Silver Lining

Metallics make me so happy, silver is my current obsession. And, not that I don’t like gold, it’s just that I was in a gold phase (for what felt like forever) – so it feels amazing to change things up! Silver and gunmetal have been my go-to’s all year. Metal accessories can be so fun, I have a silver belt that I wear on the weekly. Favorite metal staple accessory? Without a doubt, mirrored sunglasses. Everyone should own a pair. They instantly dress up any outfit (I will admit, I even feel a little “chic” when I’m wearing my silver ones home from a sweaty hot-yoga class, lol – gross!) The key to rocking them is finding the right shape for your face, you can never go wrong with a classic aviator.

Side note, I just discovered “Quay” brand sunglasses. A pair will run you close to $50-$60 bucks but the style looks so high end! I have a pair of them on my Christmas Wish List. Nordstrom carries them too, here are a few of my favorite styles.

The Gemini

The High Key

The Cherry Bomb

The bomber jacket is definitely this seasons “it” item. Such an easy way to take the outfit “down-a-notch” with its casual, masculine feel, or….dress a plain-Jane outfit up by choosing one with interesting print, color or texture.  I played it safe and opted for a shiny, quilted bomber this season. It’s not puffy, which is important when selecting this style of jacket. It’s absolutely beautiful in person, the “khaki” color is unique yet versatile so I can wear it with a lot and of course…. I loved the silver accents. The price though! This jacket is only $56! Annndddd…..I bet no one would ever be able to tell.

A must-purchase this season is a fresh and trendy pair of denim jeans. There are a few denim trends that I’m currently eyeing. You can’t go wrong with a fun pair of colored skinnies, but I’m also loving cropped and destroyed denim. Find the rise that looks best on your body and remember that every brand and designer’s version of low/mid/high rises can vary so dramatically. Spend time finding the cut that hits you in the right spot. l have friends that still won’t try “high-wasted” jeans. Don’t be afraid, try something new! Give yourself some credit, you might be surprised how flattering they are on. I love these Reagan Button Front Jean from Free People. The price isn’t bad and I love the mid-rise, cropped leg, and raw hem – but the (silver) button details on the front of the jeans is the best part!

Last side note – If you haven’t yet, check out the jeans from Zara. Their prices are insane and they have too many pairs to choose from. Great place to buy a trendy pair of jeans.
