My Baby Sprinkle

You'd think for your second baby there would be less excitement but I've actually felt at times there has been more. I know the extreme happiness you feel from having a child and not only do I want more of it, I feel so blessed to have this chance again. When I was pregnant with Brock there were so many unknowns, now I know from experience it's all doable and completely worth it. For the moments I'm "over" being pregnant I quickly remind myself that we're literally weeks away from our family being complete and that is very exciting.Like my pregnancy, everything seems to be more mellow the second time around (hoping that goes for baby too!) So when a few of my girlfriends asked about throwing me a baby sprinkle (a smaller, more laid-back version of a baby shower),  it sounded like a perfect excuse to celebrate this miracle baby girl. The event design by Sparkle + Toast absolutely blew me (and everyone) away! The theme was feminine, pastels with some boho and they nailed it. There were so many beautiful details that we all kept noticing throughout the day. I especially loved how they chose to incorporate some beautiful feminine quotes into the sprinkle. It was everything I had envisioned and more. The venue and weather couldn't have been more perfect. Flower Child is not only one of my favorite restaurants, it has the cutest outdoor space surrounded by blooming flowers which created a stunning backdrop for the event. The food was all pregnancy approved, simple and fresh with a few delectable surprises. Light & healthy appetizers, my favorite crushed avocado toast in the world! For lunch we feasted on a gorgeous organic summer salad, an avocado turkey wrap made out of whole wheat, flax & chia seeds and everyones favorite mac & cheese (how was something so delicious gluten free?) Third trimester has also brought out my sweet tooth so dessert was a huge priority and my girlfriends did not disappoint, they surprised me with my favorite red velvet cake. The sprinkle felt small and intimate, a lot of fun but also very relaxed which made everyone who attended feel comfortable. My closest family and friends were all there to celebrate. Most of them rode the infertility roller coaster with me the past 6 years which also made it more than a baby sprinkle, it was a way of saying 'thank you' to them for their support through the toughest times. Most of my friends all know each other well so there was lots of catching up and lots of laughs! What's a baby sprinkle without games? We played a few (pass the present was a huge hit) and all winners got to take home a custom basket from Plum + Sparrow!  Everyone was in love with the prizes so things got a little competitive ;)  There was also a table where the girls could write me a personal message in the guest book and a polaroid camera to take fun shots throughout the day.My baby sprinkle was beautiful. It's not everyday that you get your closest girlfriends and family to celebrate something together so a huge thank you to Emily Claiborn and Katy Heckmann for throwing me the most breathtaking sprinkle ever. I love you both and appreciate all of the effort that went into making this day so incredibly special. Also, thank you so much to all the special ladies that came and were there to celebrate with me. Your love and support has helped me in ways you will never know. I love you all. I also wanted to thank everyone who has followed along on my crazy fertility journey. I have received countless messages and emails that have all touched me deeply, I'm so glad that I made the decision to come forward with our battle and finally share the good, the bad and the ugly. It wasn't easy but your support has made it all worth it, so thank you for that.If you have any questions regarding the event details, I have listed most information below but you can always email me directly too. Thank you so much for reading about this special day ♥Xo, Shawna
