Things that help manage anxiety

A few weeks ago I shared on IG that I have been dealing with some anxiety. Besides random life moments that may cause a “normal” anxious reaction (a test, doing a speech, etc) , it’s been many years since I had felt it.

On this particular day, I woke up feeling off and my workout didn’t help shake the mood like it typically would. I just didn’t feel my usual self, I was lacking motivation for the things I usually am interested in which was strange. I decided it was best to cancel my obligations for the day. I took the afternoon off and honestly, just relaxed, did some deep breathing and met a few girlfriends for dinner, which helped me get my mind off things.

On my IG that day, I asked, and 92% of you answered “YES” to experiencing some kind of anxiety. Seeing that number was comfort for me that day, but not in a “misery loves company” kind of way. So many of you reached out with suggestions, offering support, hugs and I knew things would be ok.

With that said, I really want to keep this conversation going! You shared some great things you do to help manage your anxiety with me. Many of them have been super helpful and I wanted to share them with you too, incase you or someone you know is struggling.
