Guide to Dynamite Brows

Hello friends, today I'm going to share all of my best brow secrets with you! I've seriously tried every brow product out there and if you think I'm kidding, well... I'm not. I don't even want to tell you (or my husband) how much I've probably spent doing my own product testing. Today I've narrowed down my list of favorite products and how to use them. I have to admit, my routine changes from day to day depending on what activity I'm doing and how I intend for them to look. If you find something that works for you feel free to stick to it.Glossier Boy Brow ($16) - I saw this online about a bajillion times and was skeptical due to the immense amount of marketing behind it. Turns out, it's totally awesome. I use the 'Brown' shade and its perfect for me. I use it in combination with the next product to create natural, everyday brows. I can wear this to a super intense workout and it won't sweat down my face. What I love most is that it adds texture, color, and keeps hair in place.Mac Cosmetics Brow Define ($17) - I've used this pencil for years and the only one that comes close is the Anastasia pencil listed next. This is fine tipped and comes in a variety of colors to help you create those tiny hair like strokes. I currently use 'Spiked' and there are 10 shades to choose from.Anastasia Brow Wiz Pencil ($21) - I'm torn between this and the Mac Brow Define. They are both truly amazing but this one is just a bit thinner AND has a spoolie on the other end. It's definitely a toss up but I promise you that either way you go, you'll win. I love drawing tiny hair like strokes with this pencil, especially in the front part of the brow where it isn't supposed to be completely filled in.Anastasia Brow Powder Duo ($23) - If you prefer the powder over pencil this one is perfect! I love that it has the two colors so you can easily customize it based on how dark or light you want it. I use the lighter one in the front and the darker to really get the definition at the bottom and tail of the brow.100% Pure Long Last Brows ($25) - This little jar of textured wax is awesome and lasts forever! I have had my jar for close to a year and it barely looks like any is gone. Definitely a good bang for your buck. I use the 'Medium Brown' shade with the tightline brush listed below. Keep in mind this product is VERY pigmented so a little goes a long way. This is my go-to when I want my brows to look extra bold and defined.Sephora Collection Pro Tightline Brush ($16) - Soooo it turns out this brush is supposed to be for eyeliner, but I'm all about using a makeup brush in any way that it will work best for me. First, I hold the brush so that the bristles are up and down creating a narrow line for the front of my brows, drawing narrow strokes up from the bottom. Then, I hold the brush sideways so that the brush creates a wide coverage area to fill in the rest.NeuBrow Brow Enhancing Serum ($100 for two pack) - When saying I've tried every brow product this also includes 'growth treatments.' I've probably tried about 10 different serums and this is the ONLY one that actually made them grow thicker and more dense. Right now it's on SALE at a two for one price, when this happens..buy it! It's not cheap but it's worth it. Use it every night for at least 6 weeks and you will totally see a difference.Wahl Lithium Micro Trimmer ($8) - I don't pluck, I trim! Ripping hairs out of your eyebrows is not a good idea if you're trying to re-grow brows or have any spots 'fill in' from previous mistakes. It really softens the blow of the grow-out phase by allowing them to all grow back in simultaneously when the area is ready.Extra TipsSpoolie: Next time you're making a purchase at a beauty counter, ask the salesperson for a few disposable spoolies. These are great for combing eyebrows into place and you can use these disposable ones for a while without having to fork over any dough.Hairspray: If you don't have a waxy brow product like Glossier Boy Brow or 100% Pure Long Last Brows you can simply spray a little hairspray on your spoolie and comb thru brows. This simple step will help keep them in place and tamed, rawr!
