Bottlerock Festival

I just got home from my third Bottlerock in Napa Valley. For one, Napa is one of my favorite places to visit ever. When you add a grown-up music festival in the heart of downtown, it honestly doesn't get much better. The location is the deal changer, being downtown makes it super convientient to hop around to and from the festival throughout the weekend so you never feel stuck. The festival grounds are clean, people are super friendly, but most of all Bottlerock has THE best food, wine, beer and craft cocktails of any other festival. They take that shit very seriously in Napa. The event is sponsored by William Sonoma and together, Bottlerock Napa Valley is the chance to showcase the best of the best in the culinary world.

So back to last weekend… when we weren't stuffing our faces with charcuterie boards, pork tacos and hand rolls, we were enjoying the amazing music. I have seen some of my favorite artists perform at Bottlerock (The Lumineers, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Bruno Mars, Halsey, Chainsmokers, Skylar Grey, Lord Huron...) The festival also has an acoustic stage, always one of our favorite hangouts during the weekend.

Like I said, this was the best year yet. But in all honestly (as middle-aged as this sounds) what helps is knowing what to expect and show up feeling prepared for a three-day hiatus. Prep for me begins weeks in advance and the weather always plays a huge factor in what to pack. I've been to Bottlerock when it was hot as hell and years it's freezing and raining. Packing for a three-day music festival is challanging and we do it to ourselves becuase we love to go all out. Sure we all own jeans and Patagonia jackets but that's no fun! What we wear is just as important as where were staying and what bands to see. I broke it down day by day and all of my outfits and some of the ones my girlsfriends wore are linked throughout the post. Xx

Day One

I was obsessed with this dress the minute I saw it (don't you love when that happens!) and it fit like a glove which always helps. I'm also a sucker for smocking and the trend is huge right now. Tthe entire mid section of this maxi dress is smocked (exhale) and the neutral print allowed for so many fun ways to style it. The dress/belt/boot combo gave the outfit a little edginess that it needed. My favorite part about this look is that it transitioned from daytime at Bottlerock to downtown dinner at Morimoto (one of our faves). Choosing a shoe that is cute (yes, cute!) AND comfortable enough to withstand a three-day festival is no easy task. I brought a pair of black platform combat boots that were so amazing, I wore them 2 of the 3 days. Instead of a wearing a hat, I went with the cutest topknot headband and loved how it finished the outfit perfectly. Day one was my favorite look from the weekend.

Day Two

We packed it all in on day two (wine tasting, lunch, festival, hotel party, dinner) so I brought options. As the day progressed, so did my clothing. I started in short/jacket set and changed on the way to Bottlerock into my favorite (and most comfortable) flares. The snakeskin top was a last minute purchase from the cutest boutique in Del Mar, linked here.

Day Three

I really wanted to have fun with one of my outfits this year, I saved that for day three. I wore a see-thru blue puff sleeve dress with a nude slip underneath, Penny Lane fuzzy jacket and white boots. "Rihnstone Cowgirl" was definetly my theme song the last day. We were lucky enough to have the sweetest local girls do our glam (hair and makeup) and we all got braids to withhold the rainy weather. Although the last day was freakin cold and wet, we didn't let that stop us, we watched our favorite artists and ended the afternoon with a giant rainbow stretching over the festival. It was seriously magical.
